Which means that you have to surround yourself with this language. First you learn the basics. Maybe do a starters course. Then, after you understand the basic structure of the language, immerse yourself. Change your cellphone language to spanish (or portuguese), watch spanish movies, listen to spanish music, change your hotmail, yahoo or msn to spanish, see if you can meet some spanish people and talk to them a lot, go to yahoo messenger chat rooms in spanish. TOTAL IMMERSION. At first you probably wont understand squat, but after a short period of time, without realizing it, you'll be picking up very quickly. Hope this helps!
